NYC – based artist Leah Hinton released her new R&B Pop single “Away” on September 24, 2021. A song of transformation, “Away” celebrates a newness of self. Liberating and refreshing, the song feels like a cool breeze on a hot summer day, lifting us up and carrying us away on its scripture-inspired journey of growth and change.
This uptempo fun jam delivers messages of renewal, freedom and encouragement through its diverse musical influences including Jazz, Soul, R&B and Hip Hop. A surprise rap verse by Jordon Peace seamlessly intertwines with Hinton’s smooth vocals, adding another level to the song’s message and sound.
A prelude to her first full length album planned for 2022 and arranged and produced by Ray Angry of The Roots, “Away” was written and digitally co-produced by Leah Hinton and brought to life by NC – based acclaimed producer, composer and arranger Daniel (Doc Junya) Hargrove.
The official music video, releasing on October 16, 2021, is a celebration, set on the beach and an outdoor stage in Queens, NYC. Through expert creative direction and videography, a beautiful story unfolds featuring Hinton herself as well as people from the community, including other artists.
