OAD – “Break Me” comes from the experiences of hard times

I’m OAD, a 20 years old singer, songwriter, guitarist, drummer and producer. I write, compose, do what I feel and what I love, the genre doesn’t matter for me, even if the music is different and strange, if it sounds good and it moves me – that’s gonna work for me! If I feel comfortable, enjoy and love what I’m doing, hopefully other people might love it too.
I first started to play on guitar at the age of 10 and fell in love with it. From the moment I held the guitar that I borrowed from my friend, before I even knew how to play, I couldn’t let her go and knew that music it’s the only thing I want to do in my life. I built my home recording studio and started to produce my songs and make my music videos by myself.
I wrote “Break Me” lyrics with the incredible singer songwriter and good friend Yinam Cabir. We wrote this song during my hardest time in life. I felt broken, lost, alone, confused, I felt that everyone that I loved and everything that I had in my life has been taken from me “My name is Lost, where do we go?”
I miss my childhood, back then everything was so innocent. As we grow old life gets to be a little bit heavier sometimes and the people around us change “I miss you all even if you’re with me”. But it doesn’t have to be like that! It depends on our perspective of life. I decided to keep going forward, to stand on my feet and never give up, I believed in myself, “nothing’s gonna break me now, wall of stones, dynamite, I dare you now to break me, I swear you’ll be the first to fall”.
Life can be really beautiful and happy if you just open your eyes and look at the best side of everything. Life is short so why do we waste it on bad thoughts? I’ll always remember the goosebumps that I felt when the melody came up. It was a magic moment. Everything feels so natural and right. I knew this song was going to be really special for me. I produced this song with the amazing musician, producer and friend of mine Haim Daniel.
I’ve done all the music videos by myself. I wanted to give my audience the feeling of what it’s like to be in my head, how my life felt back then and to inspire them that no matter what, you are strong and nothings gonna break you.
